About the Yoga:

Yoga is joyful and peaceful. Quiet your mind. Connect with your breath. Let your muscles fall away from your bones. Picture your skeletal structure. Relax. Get to know your body from the inside out. Listen to your heartbeat. Feel your muscles. Breathe into your muscles. Consciously ask yourself to let tension out of your body.

My yoga sessions are more like meditation in movement. Slowly moving into poses, staying in integrity with your body. Listening to your Self. Connecting with Spirit. An hour and a half of time spent loving your Self. Stepping away from the business of everyday life, the to-do lists, awareness of past mistakes, fears of future responsibilities, disconnectedness from self, anxieties, discomforts…

Connect with your spine. Get used to sitting nice and tall, so that your inner light shines brightly. Take time to fall in love with yourself, to celebrate your range of motion, to detox your organs, stretch your muscles. Get that same wonderful feeling you get when spending a day at the spa letting someone else pamper you.

Learn the poses that you like, that your body needs. Learn them comfortably, intuitively. Take them home. Incorporate them into your everyday lifestyle. Incorporate conscious breathing. Sitting tall. Becoming aware of how you move, and when you feel discomfort from everyday activities, call upon the stretches that relieve the pain, physical or emotional.

About Rita:
A working mom with two small children, I know the feeling of disconnect from self all too well. Yoga has been a tool that has healed me physically (lower back pain), and spiritually (providing peace). If I'm feeling hormonal and I practice yoga and meditation, my way of being improves dramatically. And I'm able to be more loving to those around me. As I see my peers in their thirties and forties looking to pharmaceuticals to help ease emotional and physical pain, I turn quickly in the opposite direction, seeking healing from within. Seeking healing from the science of Yoga. It's over 2000 years old, and there are so many different styles. Seek out the style you like best.

Namaste!
